How Do I Become BRAVE leader?

That's the question we love to hear! If you go to our menu and click on "start a BRAVE group" we walk you through step by step.   There are resources and all of the video we produce to help you form a BRAVE group.  You will also fill out a contact form so we can follow through and see how you are doing.  You can always reach out directly to our director Amber at ajohns@fca.org

What do you talk about in FCA BRAVE

We talk about everything.  We want the videos and testimonies we produce to mirror REAL life.  We show where Jesus shows up in the most relevant ways.  We have covered everything from eating disorders and new age influences to faire trade shopping and boyfriend challenges.

Creating community around Christ is what BRAVE is all about.

What Can I Expect if I join a BRAVE group?

BRAVE groups are flexible. We have groups that meet once a month or every week.   Each BRAVE group is designed with a video testimonial to watch and then a PDF guide of questions to dig a little deeper.

Most groups last about an hour and a half each time they meet.   We want each group to be a time of breaking down feelings of isolation and opening up hearts and eyes to the fact that girls can risen up and be leaders, critical thinkers and rooted in Jesus.

Who is BRAVE intended for?

BRAVE is geared toward female athletes 12-22 years of age. Our podcast mirrors our small group conversations but is relevant to just about any age from middle school right through to the golden years as we address issues in coaching and playing at all levels.

Where is BRAVE located?

Although our leadership is based in Upstate NY, our reach is international.  Wherever you are, FCA BRAVE is available.

Who can I talk to if I am really struggling with something?

Please email us: ajohns@fca.org and we will connect to you.

How was BRAVE

Started

Spending time alone with God allows Him to place things on your heart.  Amber Johns,a former female athlete and a coach of female athletes joined Fellowship of Christian Athletes in 2018 in NY.  There was a continued need to minister directly to female athletes and have conversations that mattered to them.  After scribbles on notebooks and listening to young girls tell their story.  BRAVE began to take form.  The acronym is based how God see his female creation.  They are Bold Redeemed Anointed Victorious and Eternal .
